So, they tore down the only bar in my tiny hometown. It was a piss and sawdust dive named the Longhorn, and I never had a drink there. Still, I was bummed to see the place go.
A few weeks after the Longhorn was demolished, new construction began on the empty lot. I was hoping for another bar, but as the building took shape, it started looking like a church. No windows, a big front door and a steeple-ish looking roofline.
As it turns out, it's not a new church, it's going to be a new discount liquor store. Thank you Jesus.
