Flying Folks

One of the best parts of visiting the Point is getting to see some of my flying friends.

Above: Riker Davis photographing his son Tucker on one of his first soaring flights. Riker started flying in '75 and has hung glid continuously since then. He and I met in '77 in the Owen's Valley. His 19 year old son is an advancing paraglider pilot and is here at the Point working on his P2 rating.

JR Nershi is looking good and is more passionate about flying than ever these days.

Here's Tucker Davis, part of the growing second generation of foot launched pilots.

Chris is the best flight instructor I've known in my almost 32 years in this sport.

THE GLOAT

The flying has been great every day I've been here, with both the North and South Sides giving up nice sessions. I've flown my Explorer a bunch, and I've demoed the new Nova Ibex mountain wing. I also got to ground launch a Mojo 260 parachute from the top of the North one morning. Today, after the South Side session, Duane and Jeff L. and I made a jump at Skydive Ogden together. First jumps for them; #188 for me.
