Local Heroes, Blue, and Baldness

I had a nice little session at Blue earlier this week. The only problem was that 20 minutes into the flight the wind picked up and I felt compelled to land before it picked up even more! Just as well since my newly shaved head was freezing.
Alan Decktor flew with me. Al could easily become a force to be reckoned with in the world of free flying. All he needs is one more totally hard core season of flying on his Mustang and he'll be as good as anyone in the world. The question is: will he log the airtime, or will he be distracted by all his other interests like his restaurants, his mountain bike manufacturing business, his downhill bike racing career, or his brother's sailboat which is always anchored near some great surf break somewhere in Mexico?
Speaking of local heroes; how about Bill Lemon's great performance at the 2006 Monarcas meet on his DHV 2 Zoom Race? If Bill was an irresponsible madman (and those of us who know Bill know that he's definitely not irresponsible) he could quit his day job anytime and be on the US Team within one season. For Bill the question would be: which US Team? Hang Gliding? Paragliding? Powered Paragliding? Naked Fire Leaping?
